Caramelised Onions

Ingredients

  • 3 Medium Red or White Onions Sliced
  • 1 Tbsp Butter
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 1/2 Tsp Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Jam (this makes it much sweeter)

Method

Melt the butter in a pan on a medium heat.

Add the onions, salt and sugar.

Turn the heat down to low and put a lid on and cook for 40 minutes or so until the onions are caramelised. It can take a bit longer.

When they are almost ready add the spoonful of jam.
